In 1176, the Turkish army under the rule of Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Kılıç Arslan II defeated the army of Byzantine Emperor Manuel I Comnenos.
We commemorate Sultan Kılıç Arslan II and our heroic ancestors, who solidified Turkish dominance in Anatolia, with mercy and gratitude.
