The Handover Ceremony was Held in the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History.

Ambassador Prof. Dr. Derya ÖRS, one of the experienced names of Turkish academia, bureaucracy, and diplomacy, who served as the President between years 2012 and 2019, was re-appointed as the President of Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History, which is one of Türkiye’s well-established institutions.

The handover ceremony was attended by Ambassador Prof. Dr. Derya ÖRS, President of Atatürk Supreme Council, Prof. Dr. Yüksel ÖZGEN, President of Atatürk Research Center, Prof. Dr. Osman MERT, President of Turkish Language Association, Prof. Dr. Birol Çetin, President of Turkish Historical Society, Dr. Zeki ERASLAN, President of Atatürk Culture Center, Assoc. Prof. Ahmet KILINÇ, Vice President of Atatürk Supreme Council and the personals.

Ambassador Prof. Dr. Derya ÖRS and Prof. Dr. Yüksel ÖZGEN delivered the welcoming speech at the ceremony. 

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Yüksel ÖZGEN gave brief information about the Atatürk Supreme Council’s activities during his presidency and thanked his colleagues.

In his speech, Ambassador Prof. Dr. Derya ÖRS explained the projects and goals of the Atatürk Supreme Council in the future. As a priority, he stated that he aims to increase further the effectiveness of the Atatürk Supreme Council in the academic field, to provide the institution with a stronger representation in the international arena, and to bring research about Atatürk, Turkish culture, language, and history to a broader audience in cooperation with other public institutions.

Referring to the new building project, Ambassador ÖRS said that the new building, which will be a modern education and research center with a more modern and technological infrastructure, will make significant contributions to the work of the Atatürk Supreme Council. He emphasized that thanks to this new building, the Atatürk Supreme Council, Turkish Language Association, Turkish Historical Society, Atatürk Culture Center, and Atatürk Research Center will be together. Thus, he stated that the Atatürk Supreme Council will work in stronger coordination with all institutions within its body.

The handover ceremony ended with the presentation of flowers and a photoshoot.
